Over the years, the choir performed and competed throughout Ireland, winning at choral competitions in Killarney, Arklow, Navan and Galway. Perhaps the choir’s most notorious success - or was it failure? – was when it entered the Arklow Choral Festival and despite being the only entrant, ended up being awarded second place because of arriving late for the competition. The ensuing publicity brought the choir more fame (and income) than winning could possibly have done.
The DWMVC visited Wales on a number of occasions, competing against many well known Welsh male choirs at Porthcawl, Llandudno and Cardigan ' Eisteddfodau'.
In 1987 the choir was the first Irish-based choir to participate in the' Festival of 1000 Male Voices' at the Royal Albert Hall in London. The choir toured the USA twice, Canada, the UK many times and France on two occasions. The highlight of the 1998 visit to France was the choir's participation at mid-day Mass at the famous Basilica of Mont St. Michel in Brittany.
During the early 1990s the choir participated at World Choir events in Cardiff and Dublin. One of the choir’s most treasured memories is the 1994 visit to the USA, which culminated in a spectacular concert in the Atlanta Dome in Georgia.
There have been many radio and television appearances for RTE in Ireland and for the BBC, HTV and S4C channels in Wales.
The choir has produced a number of CDs, covering a wide repertoire comprising operatic choruses, more popular music and, of course, the hymns for which Welsh choirs are internationally renowned. In 1999 the DWMVC recorded 2 CDs "All Through The Night" and "XV on Song". As a result of their success, the choir recorded two further CDs "Christmas Songs and Carols" in 2001 and "Live at Monkstown" in 2003. In May 2010 the choir recorded “The Creation” CD.
